  My 7 year old now has several of these dolls. They are so pretty and have held up to daily play for several months. The hair really does need a wire doll wig brush and needs to be brushed and fluffed right out of the box, but is great quality. Typical 18" doll clothes are too big on these dolls but we recently discovered that the Best Friends Ink dolls are about he same size and build. So any of the large BF Ink fashion sets will fit the Disney Princess dolls too. This has made play more fun since my daughter desperatly wanted some jeans or "play clothes" to suppliment the fancy satin dresses in the Disney collection. We also opted to use the Our Generation bed and wardrobe for her Princess and Me dolls since the Disney ones are a little cheaply made. But the dolls themselves are just awesome. I do agree that the plastic packing pieces in the hair is a pain right out of the box. We used really small sewing scissors to cut as close to the scalp as possible and that solved the problem.   I will never forget the first time I saw them at store, went to shop for the Christmas gifts for my daughter and it was like this apparition moment at the store when the sky parts, the angel chorus sings Halleluyah.. those dolls were feeling shelvs of the local toy store and were just looking so gorgeous, shimmery, perfect, expensive, classy, and just WOW!.. I immediately got sad that the price tag was so high and I went to choosing one for my child, it was hard decission so I decided to do it other way, I went back home and went to the store with my daughter and sort of.. "accidetntally" bump into the dolls and ask her which one she would like if she could get one for Christmas. Oh boy.. the excitement in her eyes, the joy the mesmerization.. she tried to decide and she really did not know which one to choose because they were her all beloved princesses and they looked so cute. Then she asked me quietly, "mama, if I will give up some other toys from my list could I get all of them?" hm..that was a thought... I went back home and had a converstation with my husband and he really did not understood why we needed to buy more then one doll. Then I took him to the store.. and then he looked at those dolls and admitted that it is just impossible to decide for an adult, let alone for a child. It was very smart move that Disney made, good marketing moove as it is indeed impossible to get one and not the others.. We have been there with few sets of princesses and we ended up having to pay more later as we thought we can get away with one.. so later they just go off the market and we needed to search high and wide to complete the set at extra price. Therefore we decided to avoid this mistake and just get all of them, and then some.. we ended up buying all the dresses, the ballet ones, and the one for Belle and the sleeping stuff and the bed and the wardrobe and the tea set and even the little vanity. It was quite a shopping and clearly the chrismtas gifts turned into Princess and me time. Now good few weeks past and looking back at our decission we could not be happier. However it added up to considerable sum, it was about time to Upgrade tired and played with a lot.. beloved princess toddler dolls and the timming was great. Having a chance to buy all the accessories was good thing because she knows she has all her babies needs and she can play mama all she wants. She calls them her kids, she has tons of dresses to change between the dolls, one day Belle is dressed into Rapunzel dress, next Tiana is wearing Aurora's it is so cute.. and so fulfilling for her. Nighttime routine jumped into entirely new dimension when she gets them ready for sleep, nightgown, sleeping robe sleepers and all.. all the hair combing.. and hanging dresses in the wardrobe.. and then puting them in the bed, this is a tricky one as two fit in the bed without any problem, luckily she has big badger basket basssinete and she sticks the rest of them there. It is just so cute. Overall I am very happy. We saved some money on the specialls offered at the time, we got free ballet outfits with purchase of the dolls so that was a consolation. Otherwise it added up substantailly but indeed she did not get anything else. This was real treat for her and Christmas morning turned into a memorable experience. I don't recall ever making a gifts so ... one theme oriented but then again, it really was different, good different. We are very pleased with all dools. It is amazing as they all are her favorites, not one over another as she usually had in the past, but very very closely follow all others, she loves each one for differnt reasons and has different favorite aspects of each. she loves aurora's incredible gorgoeus dress, btw.. dress and doll looks million times better in reality then in this picture, it just is bit blah in picture and in reality this doll really POPS! and ROCKS!, her face, framed with gorgeous blond hair, shimmering tiara.. all dressed up in gorgeous pink .. I mean gorgeous pink this picture really does not do the justice to this dress.. Belle has such a rich and gorgoues golden tones yellow dress that just is so substantial, her face is just beautiful and great job they did to convey her facial features. Just like in the movie. Tiana,oh my goodness.. tons of shimmer, shine, and gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous dress and face the same as above Ariel- out of this world perfect perfect dress, best that any Ariel doll to the date I would say. It is just so rich and amazing, no words. and her hair is of unparalel color, not red and harsh but toned down beautiful clor. Cinderella, oh her dress again.. and the face.. dress has so much details to it it is incredible. of course Cindy is a classic so the face is just as the character in the movie great job. Rapunzel - technically not princess and me doll but it rally is. it is the same size, materials, desing, everything, so she is part of this set just released under name Tangled and that is all.. Rapunzel was more expensive but then again her hair was supposed to be made in Japan from some high end materials, and hand rooted and what not.. the eyes .. oh the eyes of those dolls, finally not a fake painted eyes but true glass eyes. gooooooooogreous! those eyes of all of those dolls give the life to the dolls and this is part of their success. They just look kiddo in the eyes like they were live person and talking to them. Amazing. Totally recommend them, any of them all of them. The collection is gorgeous. In true fairness, the Bed is bit lausy because it is flimsy and it has a cardboard as a matress covered by the soft comforter. I think they could do better job with the bed at this price, however in lack of any better it does the job, it is sturdy as far as the dolls lying down solid on them, the canopy hangs over their heads and it serves the purpose. could it be done better. yes. I think this set or individual doll would make perfectly perfect gift for any occassion, we did Christmas but just the same I can imagine her excitement and extasy if she got them for birthday, the only problem is that I know that by her summer birthday comes those dolls will be either long gone and sold out or they will only be left to buy for bazylions of quintylions of Dollars.
